Services: Wireless computing
|
My first wireless services work were based on an early hot-spot IP-zone
SP pilot project, conducted by a major national telco in 2000, where
investigation in then latest technology (802.11),
service & product development, and design of AAA and flexible
billing integration were important products.

To back this up, as Product Manager LAN/WLAN at TDC Norge (TeleDanmark), I administered intensive product/service development. I made emphasis on Cisco Aironet WLAN product series and their Structured Wireless-Aware Network (SWAN) and Wireless LAN Solution Engine (WLSE) CiscoWorks NMS technologies in core- and distribution network routers and switches for AVVID/VoIP enterprise networks, and planning/designing successful early-adopter client implementations. My pioneering work culminated in my WLAN team receiving prominent Beta-tester status at Cisco Systems for their SWAN Phase 2 in fall 2003.
In 2005 I conducted a large field study on current technology/std development of WWAN (titled: "Mobility and Wireless") in Europe, Asia, and USA, for a major telecom systems integrator (SI) in Norway. I closely followed and advised in the exciting current proceedings of WWAN, broadband wireless access, convergent mobile-wireless network, 3-4G, 4th generation WLAN, Next Generation Networks (NGN), and more... |
